Project: Dungeons & Taverns
The Story
Dungeons & Taverns is the pretty front end to my generator. All public-accessible generators are presented in an easy-to-use website format. Popular social media platforms are integrated for ease of sharing (and to build natural links for SEO).
What I Did
General
- Installed and configured WordPress 3.5
- Created HTML5/CSS3 version inspired by an old WordPress 2.0 theme
- Created Twitter account and Facebook and G+ pages
- Paid special attention to best SEO practices
WordPress-specific
- Severely culled extraneous cruft put out by default WordPress and optimized the site for loading speed
- Installed and configured social media plugins
- Created generator shortcode custom plugin
- Created "Recent Posts by Category" custom plugin
- Custom themed the WordPress login page
